Hockey season is almost here and the best way to get involved in our 2023-24 Season is to attend our Fall Kick-Off Event on Saturday, Sept. 9 at The Market Common Rink.
The event is free to attend, and open to anyone between the ages of 4-17 who is interested in playing inline hockey with us this season.
This is the perfect chance for new players, beginner and kids of all skill levels to come out, meet our coaches and players and see what Grand Strand Youth Hockey is all about.
During this event, we'll hold an open skate session where players can try skating, shooting and playing on our rink, plus a parents' meeting to give families all the details on scheduling, cost, equipment and answer any questions you may have about the league.

Rain date will be Saturday, Sept. 16. Those looking to loan gear from our trailer should arrive early for your session as will provided on a first come, first served basis.

Open Skate session for anyone interested in learning to play hockey between the ages of 4-17 years old. Kids will be allowed to skate, shoot and play around on the rink freely with coaches on hand to help new skaters get around the rink and talk to them about what to expect during practices and games. League officials will be on hand to help size players for equipment and try on donated gear from our trailer that is available to loan on a first come, first served basis.
This informational session will cover basic details about our league including scheduling, team/division placement, required equipment, league rules, etc. There will be a Q&A session league organizers to answer questions about sign-ups and any other questions you may have.
This session is open to new players who have signed up for the Fall 2023 Season. Coaches will organize players into groups by age and run through a few basic drills and game-like situations to get a feel for player skills in order to assist with roster placement.
If you are a new to the league and have registered for fall, but cannot make it to this session, please reach out to League Commissioner Chris Mowder at 765-661-1855 to find an alternate time for player evaluation or discuss team/league placement for your child.
Anyone interested in helping coach or referee this season may participate in our Fall Coaches meeting. During this session we'll review league/team format, scheduling, league rules and discuss player placement for the fall session.
