Registration is now open for the 2024 Spring Season of Grand Strand Youth Hockey. Those wishing to register a player for the upcoming season may do so by filling our registration form on TeamSnap.

Spring registration will remain open through Jan. 16, 2024, at midnight. Games for this session begin on January 20.

Below is a look at how our sign-up process works. If you have any issues please drop us a line or call (843) 633-3150 for assistance.

1. Go to Registration Form

We use the TeamSnap platform to make registration, waivers and payments easy for our participants. To begin your registration process, click the button below.

During the process, you will be asked to provide basic info about your player, their hockey experience and your family.

2. Choose a Division

During registration, you will be asked to choose one of three divisions, which will determine your player's league & team placement. Age eligibility is based on player's age at the start of our league year on September 5, 2023. Your options are:

Juniors Division: League for intermediate/advanced players at least 11 years old and no older than 17 years old.
Mites Division: League for beginner/intermediate players at least 6 years old and no older than 12 years old.
Learn-To-Play Program: Instructional program for players with no experience who are at least 4 years old and no older than 7 years old.

Note: If your player is eligible for multiple divisions, you may choose which division to enter them in based on skill level. All placements are subject to coach/league review and players in between divisions may be asked to practice or play with with teams in both divisions until a permanent placement is determined.

3. Register for AAU Insurance

As an AAU affiliate we require that all players have AAU Insurance before participating in the league. You will be asked for the Membership# in your sign-up process.

If you don't yet have one, it's OK to leave this field blank as your register, but it will be required to submit your membership # before your child's first game.

The cost for the insurance is $20/year, which covers Sept. 1, 2023 through Aug. 31, 2024.

To register, click below to visit AAU website, then choose "Youth Athlete Registration" and "Standard Membership" and fill in "Grand Strand Youth Hockey" as your club.

4. Sign Waivers & Checkout

After filling out your player info, you'll be asked to agree to a waiver and our player code of conduct, before being taken to a screen to select a league fee. Our standard session fee is $125/player.

Once you've chosen a fee, proceed to checkout where you can choose to add an additional player, if needed, or enter your payment information.

5. Get Ready to Skate!

Upon checkout, you'll receive an e-mail confirming you're successfully signed up. The next step is to attend at least one of our Spring Pre-Season Open Skates. Dates are as follows:

Spring Kick-Off Event (Saturday, Jan. 6, 2023): Will feature Open Skate for anyone wanting to try hockey from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and an Evaluation Skate from 12 to 1 p.m. for newly registered players. There will also be a parents' info session for new players at noon.
Spring Open Group Practice (Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024): We will hold an open practice for new and returning players as well as anyone who is interested in trying hockey. During this session, players will run through drills and get a feel for what our team practices are like. Session will run from 6 to 7 p.m. for Mites and 7-8 p.m. for Juniors.
Spring Pre-Season Open Skate (Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024): Final evaluation day to be placed on a team for spring. Event will feature 1-hour Open Skate will new players and 1 hour of pick-up hockey for new and returning players.
