At Grand Strand Youth Hockey it is our mission to grow the sport of hockey in the Myrtle Beach area.
As Myrtle Beach's only youth hockey league, we encourage those looking to play locally to come join us on the rink for our season starting in September (full sign-up details here).
That said, in an effort to highlight other programs promoting the game throughout the region, here are a look at a few other ways both youths and adults can play hockey this fall.
The Wilmington Junior Seahawks travel ice hockey program is based at the Polar Ice Wilmington Rink in Wilmington, N.C., approximately 90 minutes drive from the Myrtle Beach area.
The Seahawks looking for 16u players (Birth Year 2008 & 2009) for the 2024-2025 travel ice hockey season (August - March). If interested, please contact juniorseahawkshockey@gmail.com or reach out to coach Derek Yuengling.
The Wilmington rink also offers house league ice hockey for ages 7-17. The Fall House league starts September 6th and runs through December 16th.
The league offers 8U, 11U and 12 & Up programs. The 8U and 11U skate twice a week, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. One practice and one game per week. 26 total sessions. 12& UP have one session a week, Mondays 7:15-8:15pm. 14 total sessions.

The Charleston Ice Palace is located in North Charleston, S.C., and is approximately 2 hours drive from the Myrtle Beach area.
This two-sheet ice rink offers a variety of youth and adult programs, including Learn to Play sessions, Stick Skills Clinics, Tournaments, as well as Travel and House League hockey programs.
Registration is open for Youth Learn to Play which begins Sept. 9 and runs through Oct. 28. The Little Rays House League program is also now registering for fall.
Charleston Youth Hockey Association leagues includes, 2 Weekly Ice Sessions (1 Practice + 1 Game), 20 - 24 Practices on Monday Nights, 6 Skills Sessions with Ryan Blair, 6 – Goalie Development Sessions, 18 Coach Led Practices, 17 Regular Season Games(Estimated), 3 Playoff Games Team Gear Included, Jersey and Sock Set and CYHA T-Shirt. The Charleston Jr. Stingrays Travel Program is also accepting registration for fall. This program offers B, A, AA and AAA-level teams from 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U. Full Details Here.

Grand Strand Adult Hockey is the area's only adult hockey league, sharing our outdoor inline rink at Grand Park at The Market Common. The league plays its games on Wednesday nights, with pick-up hockey offered on Mondays evenings and Sunday mornings.
The league is split into two divisions, A and B leagues, and normally has between 75-100 participants per session.
Grand Strand Youth Hockey is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the game of hockey along the Grand Strand.
