Beginning in January, Grand Strand Youth Hockey will again offer its Learn to Play sessions design to teach beginning players age 4-7 the fundamentals of skating and playing hockey.
This program will take place during our spring season, with sessions taking place before GSYH gamedays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings. The cost to participate will be $50/player, which will cover rink time and a jersey.
Each one-hour session will include basic instruction on skating and fun games designed to keep players entertained, while also building fundamental skills of hockey like passing and shooting. Sessions will begin week of January 8, 2024.
In order to participate, players will be required to have skates (any inline or roller skates) and a helmet (any helmet, bike helmet, etc.). Sticks and other equipment can be borrowed from the league for use during these sessions.
Players must be age 4 or older by Jan. 1, 2024 and no older than 7 years old, with no prior hockey experience. Players age 6 or older with prior hockey experience may choose to play in our Mites Division.
