So, you want to sign-up for hockey?!? That's great!

Our league is great for kids of all ages and can be a great way to make friends, stay active, gain confidence and learn new skills.

We offer two different leagues based on age and skill level, as well as a Learn to Skate and Learn to Play program for beginners with no hockey experience. For full details on dates, costs and schedule please see the links below:

How to Register

If this is your first time registering for hockey, like any new program it can be a bit intimidating. Don't worry, we're here to help.

To get signed up, simply follow the steps below. If you get hung up or have any questions on the registration process along the way, feel free to drop us a line or call (843) 633-3150 for assistance and we'll be glad to walk you through it.

1. Go to Registration Form

We use the TeamSnap platform to make registration, waivers and payments easy for our participants. To begin your registration process, click the button below.

During the process, you will be asked to provide basic info about your player, their hockey experience and your family.

2. Choose a Program

During registration, you will be asked to choose which program you want to participate in. Your options are:

  • Juniors Division: Recommended for experienced /advanced players who are at least 11 years old. Players may be no older than 17 years old. 12-Week League Play (8 games) with 4-6 teams.
  • Mites Division: Recommended for beginner to intermediate players who are at least 6 years old. Players may be no older than 12 years old. 12-Week League Play (8 games) with 4-6 teams.
  • Learn-To-Play Program: Recommended for players with no experience playing hockey who are 4-8 years old. Players should be able to confidently stand and move on skates without assistance.
  • Learn-To-Skate Program: Recommended for players with no experience skating or playing hockey who are 4-8 years old. Participants may need assistance from a coach or skating aid to stand on skates.

Note: Age eligibility is based on player's age at the start of our league year on September 3, 2024. If you have questions about eligibility or which league to join, call us at (843) 633-3150.

3. Register for AAU Insurance

As an AAU affiliate we require that all players in our Mites and Juniors Leagues have AAU Insurance before participating in the league. This is not required for Learn to Skate or Learn to Play classes.

On the registration form, you be asked for your AAU Membership number. If you don't yet have one yet, it's OK to leave this field blank as your register, but it will be required that you submit your membership # to your coach before your child's first game.

The cost for the insurance is $20/year, which covers Sept. 1, 2024, through Aug. 31, 2025.

To secure a membership, click below to visit AAU website, then choose "Youth Athlete Registration" and "Standard Membership" and fill in "Grand Strand Youth Hockey" as your club.

4. Sign Waivers & Checkout

After filling out your player info, you'll be asked to agree to a waiver and our player code of conduct, before being taken to a screen to select a fee.

Our standard league fee is $150/player and Learn to Play and Learn to Skate program fees are $60 each (players can sign-up for both if desired).

Once you've chosen a fee, proceed to checkout where you can choose to add an additional player, if needed, or enter your payment information.

5. Get Ready for the Season!

Upon checkout, you'll receive an e-mail confirming you're successfully signed up.

After signing up, the next step is to get your player skating and ready for fall. We have multiple pre-season open skates that are open to all players.

If you're new to the program you should plan to attend our Season Kick-Off Event on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 6-8 p.m.

This will be our first official group practice for fall. Players will be broken into groups by age / league and run through some basic drills and game-like situations to assess their skills in order to help with team roster placement.

There will also be a parents' meeting that night to answer any questions you may have.

Note: If you cannot attend the season kick-off event, please contact us or call us at (843) 633-3150 to arrange for another time to meet and evaluate your player's skills for team placement.
