Due to the outdoor nature of our playing surface, league activities are easily affected by weather and even a small bit of rain or moisture can make our surface dangerous and unskateable.
Players and parents should expect occasional to frequent changes and updates throughout our season.
Our policy regarding weather is that decisions on rink condition will be made no later than 45 minutes before a practice, game or skate and that decisions will be announced via e-mail, TeamSnap and on this website.
Grand Strand Youth Hockey uses TeamSnap to stay in touch with parents and players.
TeamSnap allows parents and players to participate in group chat, set availability for games & practices and easily access contact info for coaches and organizers. It also allows our coaches to communicate schedule changes, keep statistics on players throughout the season and assign duties for gamedays (referee, timekeeper, statkeeper, etc.)
We recommend turning on TeamSnap notifications on your phone so that you are alerted to any schedule changes or team updates. Should you not wish to have notifications left on, please make sure to check the app and/or website at least 30 minutes before every practice and game to stay alerted to any changes or updates.
